Comments

I was told a while back that it is difficult to leave comments on the page. Sorry it took me so long to look into. I think the problem is fixed now so you can comment away! Thank you for all of your comments and thoughts and prayers for our family.

With love,
Esther

We don't know you personally, but we've been praying for you guys as we follow your journey. I follow Jeremy Lin on Instagram and was surprised and overjoyed that he posted a video with Ava! That was adorable. My girls and I pray every night for Ava. We're thinking of you.

Esther and Mike-
I've read many of your posts and I can't seem to stop. You have a beautiful family. I just want the both of you to know that you are fantastic parents. There will always be that lingering feeling of doubt, however, you guys always fight through it. Keep pushing forward. Whether you guys are encouraged by your readers, God, or just the smiles of your girls, keep doing what you are doing.

As one of your reader, I feel that humanity is at it's best when a community (online or otherwise) comes together and help our fellow man in any way, shape, or form. Your entire predicament reminds me of a quote I once heard about a promise:

"Never cruel or cowardly. Never give up, never give in"

In my opinion, that should be an unwritten rule of life.

Ava-
Keep fighting. You are brave enough to do it. You have already done so much so keep it going!
Gwen-
You are strong. If you don't fully understand it now, you will eventually. Continue to be strong.

I wish you all the best.

It's almost as if I know your family, your writing is beautiful, and the pain described is, well, painfully real. Many times I have tears reading about your pain and Ava's trials. I write not believing that I can comfort you, but to merely say I am walking the journey with your family by checking your blog multiple times a week.

I couldn't thank you in person on Sunday when you spoke at church, and then I missed my second opportunity when we passed by each other outside of TGI Friday.
Thank you so much for your bravery as you shared. I truly believe God was glorified through your words. I know you "don't care about my spiritual life," and how Ava's story makes me closer to God, so I'll just say this.
I pray that you become acutely aware of the Jesus who wept with Mary. Sickness sucks. And sometimes words of encouragement aren't what we need. It's just someone who cries with you.
